I am a 29 year old artist based in the North West of England. Having graduated in Fine Art in 2010, I decided to try my hand at freelance work and 'live the dream' of being a full time artist. It's not been as glamorous as it sounds, but over the years thing's have progressed and I'm slowly but surely turning my passion into a steady career.

I recently competed in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of The Year TV Show - which airs in early 2017 - painting famous faces under the scrutiny of lights/cameras/time restraints and judges. The show was an invaluable experience through which I learnt a lot about myself as an artist.

I like to think of my style as an impressionistic form of photorealism, capturing elements of photography/cinematography such as depth of field and filtered lighting, with a loose, painterly approach associated with painting directly from life. I want my work to be engaging not only through my subject matter and composition, but equally through my method of application and mark-making.

While many artists shy away from the notion of using photography in painting, I believe in embracing the technology we have available to us to create more interesting and dynamic works of art.

I am available for commissions, demonstrations, and some of my own work is available to purchase from representing galleries. For all enquiries, please feel free to contact me.
